the short version

  • Feedz only stores what it needs to work: keeping you signed in, and remembering choices you've made.
  • No advertising cookies, no tracking cookies, no cookie banner — because there's nothing to consent to.
  • Our analytics store nothing on your device, and you can switch them off below.

What we store, and why

UK law lets a website store things on your device without asking when they're strictly necessary for something you've asked for. That's all Feedz stores:

NameSet byWhat it doesHow long
__sessionClerk (sign-in)Keeps you signed inUntil it expires or you sign out
__client_uatClerk (sign-in)Lets the site check whether you're signed inUp to a year
__clientClerk, on its own sign-in domainYour sign-in session itselfUp to a year
__clerk_handshakeClerk (sign-in)Passes your session safely between pages while signing inA few seconds
__clerk_environmentClerk (local storage)Keeps a copy of the sign-in form's settings, so it loads quicklyUntil Clerk refreshes it
__cf_bm, _cfuvidCloudflare, on Clerk's sign-in domainTell people from bots and stop sign-in being flooded30 minutes; until you close your browser
feedz-themeFeedz (local storage)Remembers light or dark, if you chooseUntil you clear it
feedz-analyticsFeedz (local storage)Remembers that you switched analytics offUntil you clear it
feedz-previewFeedzOnly if you're given a preview link: shows you the site before it opens30 days
A few short-lived valuesFeedz (session storage)Carry you through a flow, like following a creator straight after signing upUntil you close the tab

Clerk sometimes adds a short code to the end of its cookie names (like __client_uat_a1b2c3) — the same cookies, doing the same jobs.

Analytics

We count which pages and features get used, with PostHog (hosted in the EU) — without storing anything on your device. It's described in our privacy policy. To switch it off:

Other sites

When you pay, Stripe's checkout runs on Stripe's own site and sets its own cookies there, mainly to prevent fraud. And every post on Feedz links to its platform — once you're on YouTube or Substack, their cookie policies apply.

Clearing them

Your browser's settings can clear or block all of this. Clearing Clerk's cookies signs you out; clearing the others just resets your choices.
